Raise Your Hand to be a Volunteer Leader
The Volunteer Center is launching a new effort to help nonprofit organizations increase their ability to manage groups of volunteers and get more work done for their organizations. We are recruiting individuals who will be trained as Volunteer Leaders and then assigned to nonprofit organizations to help facilitate volunteer projects.
The Volunteer Leaders will also act as ambassadors for United Way helping volunteers understand the needs in our community and how they can help.
We would like to encourage you to sign up to attend our training on August 21st. We are especially seeking Site Leaders with a connection to United Way and the Volunteer Center, such as Project Blueprint graduates, NextGen members, former United Way Loaned Executives, past Day of Caring volunteers, AmeriCorps Alumni, BLEND, YNPN, VMAWM, and more!
Please note that we are launching the Project Leader program this year on our Day of Caring, Friday September 14, and Volunteer Leaders will be assigned to support projects during that day of service. Even if that is not a day that will work for you, please do not hesitate to sign up for the training. We will be offering Volunteer Leader assignments on other dates and times (including weekends and week nights) throughout the year.
This is a great opportunity to grow your leadership skills and your professional networks in both the public and private sector. It is also a great excuse to break out of the old routine, have some fun, and make a big impact in community issues!
Sign up for one of our August 21st Site Leader Training Sessions at the United Way:
Tuesday, August 21, 2012 3:00 PM-4:30 PM
Tuesday, August 21, 2012 5:30 PM-7:00 PM
Thank you so much for considering this opportunity!
