United Way’s Project Blueprint is a leadership development program that aims to increase the number of professionals of color providing leadership in local health, government and human services organizations. Project Blueprint training consists of four evening sessions plus a visit to a board meeting.

Topics include:
- reason for diversifying boards
- cultural diversity
- board member responsibilities
- effective communication
- mentoring and networking
- group dynamics and role playing
- how to be effective in fund raising
Benefits for Professionals of Color:
- Participate in four evening sessions and a visit to a community organization board meeting
- Learn about leadership, diversity, board and parliamentary procedures, and financial and fund raising responsibilities
- Meet and network with other professionals of color in West Michigan
- Become a potential board or committee candidate for hundreds of leadership opportunities throughout West Michigan

Project Blueprint can be a resource for nonprofit agencies and other community organizations as they work to enhance and diversify their leadership capacity.

To work with other organizations to make Kent County a place where people of color would desire to live, become leaders and contribute to making our community a better place for all people.
